BEAT Pain Approach – FAQs

How many sessions will I need and how much will it cost?

This is a hard one to answer as everyone is different.  It really depends on your pain, how long you’ve had pain, how much commitment you put in and many other factors.  Most people see significant improvements in their pain within 2 months.  The programme is 12 weeks long with 6 sessions.  You may however need further help beyond that.

The BEAT Pain programme includes 6 sessions with me (one of which is a 1.5 hour initial assessment).  You will also get 12 weeks free access to my BEAT Pain Circle Membership.  The cost of all this is £700 which can either be paid up front or in 2 instalments of £350.

Find out more about the membership here.

When will I have no pain?

This one varies from person to person, as it depends on commitment and how long you’ve been in pain for.  You might not become totally pain free but using this approach will give you a better quality of life and actionable steps on what to do with flare ups in the future.  You’ll understand your body better and learn what it is trying to tell you with its pain.  This in itself makes flares ups less frequent and gives you quality of life back. It will give you back control over your pain and make you fear it less so you can get on with the activities you enjoy.

What if I have other health issues, will this program still work for me?

Yes, the BEAT pain program helps not only with pain but also with general well-being.  Please feel free to book a FREE consultation call and we can discuss together whether we think it suitable, as everyone is different. What I’ve found with previous clients, is that this guidance helps them live a healthier life in general and can often help other ailments too;  Their bloating reduced, headaches disappeared, energy improved, general aches got better, hair loss reduced, skin cleared up.  If you are unsure, I recommend you consult your doctor first and speak to them about joining this program or you can book a free call with me and we can discuss your case.

I’ve had a diagnosis of Osteoarthritis and have been told to reduce exercise.  Will the BEAT pain approach help me?

Yes, Osteoarthritis is an inflammatory condition where joints become inflamed and the BEAT pain approach has reduced inflammation in everyone.  You may have been told that you have “bone on bone” which can sound frightening and being told something like this can in fact make pain worse, because it increases our fear and causes you to stiffen up even more.  New science has actually shown that cartilage does repair and we need movement in order to encourage this to happen.  Instead of hearing “wear and tear”, we believe in “wear and repair” or “motion is lotion”.   A client joined the program with OA in her knees and ankles which was stopping her from leading an active lifestyle.  After 6 weeks her inflammation score reduced from 65 to just 26, she became pain free and went skiing straight afterwards.

I’ve been told my pain is due to structural damage.  How do I know if the BEAT pain approach help me?

The BEAT pain approach is really effective on Neuroplastic pain, but how do you know if you have Neuroplastic pain?  If you answer ‘yes’ to some or most of the questions below, then the chances are, you have Neuroplastic pain and that is good news because that means the BEAT approach can work.  I also have a blog about this in the wellness hub here.

  • Paying for Katie’s services has been without a doubt the best thing I could have done to support me with my pain journey.

Katie brings a wealth of experience to her consultations with you, however I feel the most important thing she brings is support, empathy and understanding. You do not feel alone with your symptoms, most importantly because she has been through her own chronic pain journey, which is the reason why I decided to work with her. She had been through it herself, she didn’t make silly promises, she just explained her history and the science behind it.
