Gentle and holistic approach to enhancing your overall wellbeing
Pilates
What Is Pilates?
Pilates is a form of exercise pioneered in the early 20th century by Joseph Pilates. It is great for strengthening and toning deep muscles such as your core. Typically it is performed on a mat using either bodyweight or simple pieces of equipment such as resistance bands, balls, foam rollers, light weights and pilates rings. The exercises are performed with the following principles in mind: breathing, concentration, control, centring, precision and flow. Along with benefits to your physical health such as improved strength and flexibility, it also benefits your mental health thanks to the mindfulness approach.
