Turmeric and pineapple anti-inflammatory shot

Ingredients

  • 1 lemon flesh only
  • 2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 2.5 cm ginger peeled and cut into pieces
  • 200g pineapple (frozen or fresh). Include core
  • 400g coconut water
  • 1 pinch cayenne pepper
  • 1 pinch black pepper (to allow absorption of turmeric)

Method

Add all ingredients into a blender and blend.  Pour into glass for immediate drinking or pour into sealable bottle for consumption later. This should serve 7 portions.

Tip

Using the core of the pineapple ensures you get the important anti-inflammatory bromelain. For the ginger and turmeric you can either use powder or the fresh root. About 1 inch is equal to 1 tsp.
